>>Filmmaker Kristin E Catalano stopped by during Melissa's show on Wednesday, December 22nd, to talk about her new documentary, Let's Start A Revolution, which follows members of Milwaukee bands Heathrow, The Nice Outfit, and Trolley, as they make music in our city. One of the film's subjects, Eric White of Heathrow, joined her on the air. Let's Start A Revolution premiered on December 25th at Points East Pub, with the bands featured in the film performing live. DVD's of the film with bonus materials are available from Milwaukee record label, Easter Records.

>>Thanks to everyone who tuned in on Tuesday, December 14th for the M.S.E. Project on-air launch party. Four great Milwaukee artists who appeared on our Live at WMSE Volume 4 compilation CD returned for special encore performances. Many thanks to Steve Peplin of the Invocation Trio, Those Royals, Jimmy and Alex of The Blue Rubies, and Temper Temper (pictured), for going above and beyond the call of duty in helping make this a very special day.

>>Thank you to everyone who stopped by the station, or went online to pick up a copy of the new disc, Live at WMSE Volume 4: Milwaukee Sound Environment for our special holiday sale. We appreciate you helping to make its release a great success. You can still pick up a copy of any of our four comps with a tax-deductible $50 donation to WMSE, which is a non-profit, non-commercial station. The first three discs are also available for $12 in Milwaukee at Atomic Records, RushMor Records, North Star Music, and the Exclusive Company on Farwell Ave; and in Madison at the Exclusive Company and B-Side. A portion of each sale benefits WMSE.

>>And by the way, if you're looking for the Mississippi Scandanavian Enterprise site, you're going to want to click on http://www.mseproject.com. We are but a simple non-commercial radio station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our Station Manager knows two phrases in Swedish, though.

>>WMSE is proud to kick off the Milwaukee Sound Environment this November. Made possible by a grant from the Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Arts Board, this site will help listeners to find new favorite bands around town, and artists to find out how they can be heard in Milwaukee and WMSE. In the future, we’ll have mp3’s from the 175+ performances which have been recorded live at WMSE over the past five years. We’ll be increasing the number of live on-air artists, and dedicating airtime to local artists in the coming weeks. For more information, check in on the Mission page, and stay tuned.

>>Milwaukee's El Oso is distributing the band's live on-air performance (11/10/04) at WMSE via their website, as well as at nokarma.com, for the low price of $2.99, to hold fans over until their debut album is finished. You can hear and download a track, "Location, Location, Location", for free at purevolume.com. El Oso performs with Those Royals and Clementine on Friday, November 26th at Cactus Club, and on Friday, December 17th with Five Mod Four and LaSalle at Onopa.

>>The 2004 Fall Membership Drive wrapped up on Friday, November 12th, and we welcomed twenty-two live artists onto the WMSE airwaves (twenty from the Milwaukee area), including Decibully, Jim Liban, The Panic, Dorian Gray, Call Me Lightning, and more. We were thrilled that a couple of touring artists accepted the invitation to WMSE for special performances: Robyn Hitchcock on Friday, November 5th, and John Doe on Thursday, November 11th. Thanks to all of the artists who lended their time and talents to the cause of keeping independent radio alive in Milwaukee, and thank you to all of our amazing listeners who pledged over $100,000 in one week's time so that we could meet our operating budget for the next six months!
